The Compound: Lanna Living

Above the doorway is a rare example of a traditional Northern Thai carved architectural relief known as a Ham Yon. Like the temples of Lanna, the impressive Kalae style house has a dramatic steep roof and exposed terracotta ceiling.

Adjoining the main house is a second 19th century Lanna Thai house, with a large bedroom and adjoining master bathroom. A third antique house with bedroom and bath, is connected to the main house on the opposite side by an inviting walkway.

Like a stand-alone architectural sculpture, the compound also boasts a significant example of an eight-post teakwood rice granary in untouched original condition. A service building, maid's residence and bath, sits in the rear of the property.
