As of April 2008, we began a policy of charging 500 Baht per half-day for our time and transport. This is because we frequently drive many miles around the expansive Chiang Mai valley, and if clients are with us for several days and no sale ensues, then this is not a desirable scenario in business terms. Further, we feel that it is a prudent measure in order to filter out "sightseers", who come for a "look-see", as you lucidly describe it. Of course, should matters proceed beyond the stage of "viewings", then no charges would be levied and any payments made thus far would be refunded. This new policy is one we have adopted after noticing it's implementation by several of our competitors. Thank you for your understanding.
